Typed letter of state in French, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 8.75 x 13.25, golden "Kamal Ataturk, President de la Republique Turque" letterhead, March 2, 1935. Letter to the president of Peru, announcing his reelection as president. In part (translated): "I have the pleasure of informing Your Majesty that the Great National Assembly of Turkey, in a meeting on March 1st, 1935, at Ankara, reelected me by unanimous vote, President of the Republic of Turkey, for the fourth time…I wish to give you assurances that all my efforts will be made to keep and increase the good and friendly relations that fortunately exist between Turkey and your Country, and I will be grateful to have the contribution of Your Excellency in the accomplishment of this task that will benefit our two Nations." Signed in type at the conclusion by "Kamal Ataturk," with the translation certified in fountain pen by a government official. In very good to fine condition, with two file holes, a rusty paperclip impression, and speckled light staining.
