Three participation medals from the Berlin 1936 Summer Olympics, consisting of bistre brown bronze, dark brown bronze, and green brown bronze variants. Each 70 mm, 114 gm, by Otto Placzek, with the fronts depicting five athletes, representing the five continents, pulling the ropes of the Olympic bell, with raised text, "XI Olympiade, Berlin, 1936"; the reverse of each bearing the Olympic bell embossed with the German eagle gripping the Olympic rings within five concentric circles, the name of the designer on the outer rim. Includes two original red paper cases, one of which bears a tape-repaired partial separation to the case bottom.
