Description

Judge’s badge issued for ‘Boxing’ at the Berlin 1936 Summer Olympics. Silver-tone, 41 mm x 46 mm, 14 gm, manufactured by Lauer, featuring the Olympic rings over the Brandenburg Gate. The front is engraved "XL Olympiade Berlin 1936" and “Richter,” which translates to ‘Judge.’ The reverse is numbered “632” and stamped with the maker’s mark. Complete with its original deep red ribbon, which measures 70 mm in length and is marked “Boxen.” A rare and sought-after badge from the historic Berlin Games.

The boxing events at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin took place from August 10–15 and featured 179 competitors from 31 nations across eight weight classes. Germany led the medal table with five total medals, including two golds, followed closely by Argentina with four. France, Italy, the United States, and Norway each earned two medals, making them the only other countries to win more than one.
