Collection of nine pieces of Olympic-related dishware and glassware presented to noted IOC member James Worrall by various international Olympic Committees, which includes:
- Porcelain sake-style flat cup, 1.25˝ tall and 3˝ in diameter, presented by the Japanese Amateur Athletic Federation for the Tokyo 1964 Summer Olympics. Includes its original box.
- Two metal dishes, 4.25˝ x 4.5˝ and 5.25˝ x 5.25˝, with Olympic designs to the center related to Spain, one with “Espana,” the Olympic rings, and the colors of the Spanish flag, and the other marked “CIOFI, Barcelona 76,” ostensibly related to an IOC meeting promoting Barcelona as a 1976 Summer Olympics host city.
- King’s Plate EP (Electro-Plated) Brass plate by Birks from the Montreal 1976 Summer Olympics, 10.25˝ in diameter, with the center engraved with the Montreal Games emblem and an inscription, “Presented to James Worrall, Q.C., On June 29, 1978 [by] The Board of Directors of the Organizing Committee of the 1976 Olympic Games, In grateful recognition of outstanding contribution to the success of the Games.” Includes its original box and drawstring bag. The plate bears some tarnishing.
- Decorative tray issued at the 96th IOC session held in Tokyo, Japan, in September 1990, measuring 6.5˝ x 11.75˝ x .5˝, the top bearing a floral pattern in Japanese cloisonne enamel, with the underside bearing gilt text and the Adidas logo. At the 96th IOC session, Atlanta was selected as the host for the Games of the XXVI Olympiad. The plate bears chips to two corners and crackling to the enamel.
- Crystal box issued as part of Birmingham, England’s bid for the 1992 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, 2.75˝ x 1.65˝ x 2.75˝, with the top etched with the Birmingham emblem and text, “The Heart of Gold.” Includes its original box.
- Two sterling silver plates, both 8.25˝ in diameter, issued by the Athens Olympic Bid Committee during the city’s attempt to host the 1996 Summer Olympics, both featuring the Athens 1996 emblem to the center. Includes an original box. The plates bear tarnishing.
- Attractive crystal bowl with flared, petal-like sides by Orrefors of Sweden, 5.75˝ x 3.75˝ x 5.75˝, the bottom etched, “Swedish Olympic Committee,” with their emblem directly above. Includes its original box.
