Original vintage circa 1970s glossy 7 x 5 photo of Bruce Lee and James Tien in a scene from the 1971 martial arts film The Big Boss. In fine condition. Encapsulated by PSA as an authentic "Type I" photograph, circa 1970s.
The Big Boss, directed by Lo Wei, was Bruce Lee’s first major leading role and his return to Hong Kong cinema. Originally written for James Tien, Lee’s powerful performance overshadowed Tien—already a Hong Kong star—and made Bruce Lee famous in Asia and eventually the world. Made on a $100,000 budget, the film grossed nearly $50 million worldwide (about $400 million today), becoming Hong Kong’s highest-grossing film until Lee’s next hit, Fist of Fury (1972).
The Marc and Mary Perkins Collection.
