Scarce unissued circa 1860 gilt brass Union Army ‘dog tag,’ 1.25˝ in diameter, engraved by Robert Lovett, with the front featuring a raised profile portrait of America’s first president with text, “George Washington, Security”; and the reverse bears three unstamped fields for “Name,” “Co.,” and “Regt.” An uncommon example sans upper drill hole. In fine condition. Accompanied by two commemorative medallions for the 75th anniversary of the ‘Gettysburg, Blue and Gray Reunion.’
