Description

Embroidered Skylab 2 insignia patch manufactured by Lion Brothers, measuring 4˝ in diameter, presented to famed launch pad leader Guenter Wendt by the first Skylab crew prior to their flight on May 25, 1973. Of note is the presence of “CKW” initials stitched neatly to the right of the Skylab space station design; ‘CKW’ representing the last name initials of each Skylab 2 astronaut: Charles Conrad, Joe Kerwin, and Paul Weitz. Also includes a color vintage satin-finish 10 x 8 photo of the crew posing outdoors in their white space suits, signed on the reverse by Wendt and stamped as being from his personal collection. In fine condition. The Guenter Wendt Collection, ex. Ken Havekotte.
