Two ticket stubs from the historic 1946 season at Fenway Park: a 4 x 2.5 ticket stub from the All-Star Game between the American League and National League on July 9, 1946, for admission to the grandstand's "Sec. 12, Row 3, Seat 15," featuring an illustration of the ballpark and the facsimile signature of Tom Yawkey; and a 4 x 2.25 ticket stub for Game 5 of the 1946 World Series between the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals, also featuring Yawkey's facsimile signature. In overall fine condition.
Fenway Park hosted the All-Star Game for the first time in 1946, with hometown hero Ted Williams going 4-for-4 with two home runs, 4 runs scored, and 5 RBI. The Red Sox won the American League pennant that season, and battled the St. Louis Cardinals to a 7th game in the 1946 World Series. The Red Sox would not appear in another World Series until their 'Impossible Dream' season 21 years later in 1967, when they again lost to the Cardinals in a deciding 7th game.
