Description

"Jimmy Page" writes down his address for "The Old Mill House," the site of John Bonham's death, a tragedy that marked the end of Led Zeppelin

Ballpoint signature of Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page on an off-white 4.75 x 7.75 sheet, on which Page has also added his address: “The Old Mill House, Mill Lane, Clewer Village, Near Windsor, Berkshire, Windsor 57045 (From London 95.57045).” The reverse is dated to 1984. In fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from REAL.

In 1980, Jimmy Page purchased the home of esteemed actor Michael Caine for £900,000 in Clewer, roughly 25 miles west of London. Dubbed ‘The Old Mill House,’ the property was enshrined in Led Zeppelin folklore for all the wrong reasons the very same year. After rehearsing for an upcoming tour of America, the band retired to Old Mill House for the evening, with drummer John Bonham discovered unresponsive the following day and declared dead at the age of 32 on September 25, 1980. Stricken by grief, Led Zeppelin was disbanded in the aftermath and has largely resisted all temptations and/or offers to stage a full-blown reunion ever since, barring the very occasional one-off performance featuring Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones.
