Complete, disbound issue of Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper from December 29, 1888, 11 x 16, sixteen pages, featuring a woodcut illustration of Uncle Sam attending to New Years' callers on the front page. Inside is an article entitled "A Story of Indian Affection," about Rain in the Face and the death of his son, Koska, illustrated with a full-page woodcut on the following page, captioned: "Is the Indian Capable of Affection?—The Sioux Chief Rain-in-the-Face Mourning His Dead Child." In fine condition.
