(King Features) Vibrant key master background prototype set-up for a limited edition Hägar the Horrible cel, consisting of its colorful hand-painted 16-field color model cel, its original matching hand-painted production background, and its original matching production drawing. The color model cel, which is numbered “Pro/1” as being a prototype, shows Hägar and several of his crewmen sailing on a Viking ship, with a scroll to the lower section reading, “Discovering North America, The Year 992!” The total character image measures 10.25 x 13.25, with overall dimensions of 13.5 x 17.25. The drawing, stamped “Duplicate,” is accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on untrimmed 13.5 x 16.5 animation paper. In overall fine condition, with some creasing to the drawing.
