Desirable set of ‘Conference Proceedings’ reference books from the first seven West Coast Computer Faires held from 1977 to 1982, which served as important gatherings for engineers, hobbyists, and entrepreneurs during the nascency of personal computers. Perhaps most importantly, the WCCF acted as a crucial launchpad for startups like Apple Computer, which was founded on April 1, 1976, a year before the inaugural event. The books, each softcover and measuring 8.25 x 10.75, contain detailed information on all of the many events and lectures from event conference, which are as follows:
The First West Coast Computer Fair: A Conference & Exposition on Personal & Home Computers, held at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California, on April 15-17, 1977, 334 pages. This historical first event introduced important machines like the Commodore PET and the Apple II. It was at this exhibition that Jobs introduced the Apple II to Japanese textile maker Toshio Mizushima, who became the first authorized Apple dealer in Japan. The first WCCF is also where Wozniak handed out his ‘From Altair to Zaltair’ gag fliers, a parody of the Altair 8800 computer made by MITS.
