Description

Complete newsstand edition of Interface Age magazine (Vol. 1, Issue 8) from July 1976, published "for the home computerist" by the Southern California Computer Society, 8.25 x 11, with the front cover picturing a pile of early personal computers in a wagon. This "special hardware edition" of the magazine contains the first Apple-1 advertisement and a review of the Apple-1 computer, which had just been introduced by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. In the ad, the pioneering Apple computer system is priced at $666.66, and notes that it is "a fully assembled, tested & burned-in microprocessor board."

The review, "Comparing Apples and Oranges," offers a brief overview of the Apple-1 system and offers some insight into the company's goals and background, quoting Steve Jobs: "This hobby market may still be only a baby, but it's going to grow up fast like the CB market did and we plan to grow with it. We're here for the hobbyist to give him the best performance system that makes sense economically." Encapsulated by CGC with a qualified grade of 6.0 (Off-White to White Pages, missing subscription/reader service card insert).
