Description

Sought-after original artwork from legendary Disney animator Fred Moore

American artist and animator (1911-1952) for Walt Disney Animation Studios, who, despite limited formal art training, rose to prominence at Disney very quickly in the early 1930s. Moore worked on the majority of Disney’s early theatrical releases, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Peter Pan, and he’s also remembered for his ‘good girl art,’ drawings of innocently sexy, often nude, women, referred to as ‘Freddie Moore Girls.’ (Walt Disney Studios, ca. 1940s) Original artwork by the legendary Disney artist and animator Fred Moore, unsigned, accomplished in graphite, colored pencil, and watercolor on 17.25 x 13.75 illustration board, which features a group of three button-eyed children, a young boy with his legs crossed, holding his cap in one hand and offering a pair of flowers to two young girls, presumably twins, dressed in red coats. In fine condition, with toning and stains to worn edges, all of which could be easily matted out. Given his tragic death at the age of 41, anything signed or created by Moore remains quite rare and highly coveted by fans and collectors.
