Unique display of relics and artifacts recovered from the area of the Bozeman Trail Tongue River Crossing, a sacred ground of the Arapaho, attributed to the Sawyers Fight of August–September 1865 and subsequent wagon trains and skirmishes through 1876. The artifacts include a variety of items—square nails, slugs and cartridges, military and civilian buttons (including a rare wagon master button, dish and bottle shards, buckles, and rivets—affixed to a wagon board from the period. Mounted and framed with a descriptive plaque to an overall size of 33.5 x 16.5. In overall very good to fine condition, with one cartridge having come loose from the board. Includes a descriptive packet with an accompanying photograph and artifact key.
