Stunning original artwork by Joann Daley of Russian composer and pianist Sergei Prokofiev, imagery that was used as the front cover design for the vinyl album Prokofiev: String Quartets / The Sequoia String Quartet, released by Nonesuch Recordings in 1983. Accomplished in acrylic and mixed media on 23.75 x 23.75 illustration board, the painting depicts the Russian master in later age in a front-facing bust-length pose, his portrait and the surrounding border layered with kaleidoscopic colors. Daley has signed above Prokofiev’s right shoulder in white paint, “Joann, 82.” In fine condition. Accompanied by a copy of the album (record not included).
