Vintage semi-glossy 7 x 5 silver gelatin photo of the six American boxers that won medals at the Paris 1924 Summer Olympics, signed in ink by four: featherweight Joseph Salas (silver medal), flyweight Raymond Fee (bronze), flyweight Fidel La Barba (gold), and lightweight Frederick Boylstein (bronze). The photo is also signed by five members of the coaching staff, including coach Spike Webb, who adds a handwritten dedication to boxer Jackie Fields, who won a gold medal in the featherweight division. It reads: “To my pal Jackie Fields: The boxing team loves you Jackie Fields ole boy cause you are a boxing jewell. All gold without alloy. You’re strong and true and game all thru and that’s the reason and the why. The boxing team loves you Jackie Fields ole boy. Sincerely yours, Spike Webb, 8-5-’24.” In very good to fine condition, with scattered creases and some edgewear.
