Description

Official RIAA flower hologram-style gold sales award presented "to Strawberries Records and Tapes to commemorate the sale of more than 500,000 copies of the Sutra Records, Inc. album and cassette ‘Fat Boys.'" Framed with its disc, cassette, plate, and small album cover image to an overall size of 17.25 x 21; frame backing bears a New York Frame & Picture label. In very good to fine condition, with light scratching to the original Plexiglas, and some wear to the gold disc and frame.

Produced by Kurtis Blow, Fat Boys is the self-titled debut studio album by American hip-hop group the Fat Boys, which was released on May 29, 1984, by Sutra Records. On the strength of singles ‘Jail House Rap’ and ‘Can You Feel It?,’ the album peaked at number 48 on the US Billboard 200, and number 6 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on May 6, 1985.
