Description

Official printing of "Ex. Doc. No. 3" from the 40th Congress, 1st Session, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 6 x 9.5, containing a "Letter from the Secretary of the Interior transmitting Estimates of appropriations for fulfilling treaty stipulations with the Shawnees," March 7, 1867. Includes the text of Secretary of the Interior O. H. Browning's letter to Speaker of the House Schuyler Colfax, enclosing a communication from Commissioner of Indian Affairs Lewis V. Bogy, recommending appropriations amounting to $152,746.25 to satisfy a "treaty with the Shawnees." In fine condition.
