Winner's medal awarded in athletics at the 1934 British Empire Games, the second edition of what is now known as the Commonwealth Games, which was held in England between August 4–11, 1934. Silver, 50 mm, 54 gm. The front features a lion with "British Empire Games" overhead and "England 1934" below; the reverse is engraved with the event, "Athletics, 880 Yards, 2nd," ringed by a laurel wreath. Marked at the bottom by the maker, "Phillips - Aldershot." Complete with its original red leather presentation case.
