Collection of eight badges issued for the equestrian events held in Stockholm during the 1956 Summer Olympics, ranging in size from 28 mm x 37 mm to 31 mm x 89 mm (with ribbon), the majority depicting a classical horse and rider above Olympic rings. The lot includes: an attache’s badge with orange-and-blue enamel background and a yellow-and-blue ribbon; a gold-plated Order of Merit badge suspended from a yellow-and-blue ribbon; a competitor’s badge with a red enameled background and a red ribbon; an official’s badge with a green enameled background; a team assistant’s badge with a purple enameled background; a badge with an orange enameled background; a shield badge marked CHIO (Concours Hippique International Officiel) with horseshoe Olympic rings; and a plastic “Press” pass badge. The majority are marked on the reverse by the maker: "Lagerstrom, Mjolby." In overall fine condition, with discoloration to the purple badge background.
