Official initiation to attend the London 1948 Summer Olympics from the British Olympic Association and Organizing Committee of the XIV Olympic Games, 8 x 10, with the front featuring colorful Olympic rings over stylized text, “XIV Olympiad, London 1948,” and the inside bearing the following printed invitation, “The International Olympic Committee having chosen the City of London as the place for the celebration of the Fourteenth Olympiad the Organising Committee of the Olympic Games of 1948 has the honour to invite you to be present at the competitions and celebrations which will take place on this occasion at London from 29th July to 14th August 1948.” Signed below in ink by Wyndham Portal and Lord David Burghley, the respective president and chairman of the British Olympic Association. In fine condition, with light spotting and a faint bend to the bottom.
