Accomplished deaf baseball player (1862–1961) who spent most of his career in the National League, playing center field for the Washington and Cincinnati clubs; known for his steady defense, speed on the bases, and keen batter's eye, he led the league in stolen bases in his 1888 rookie season. Ballpoint signature, "Wm. E. 'Dummy' Hoy,” on an off-white sheet folded to 6.25 x 2.75. In fine condition. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.
