Green Bay Packers check, 8.25 x 3.25, filled out in another hand and signed by Lombardi, "Vincent Lombardi," payable to NFL Hall of Famer James S. Ringo, Jr. for $1343.49, October 1, 1959. The check is countersigned by Dominic Olejniczak, and the reverse is endorsed by Ringo. In fine condition. Encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "NM-MT 8."
Olejniczak was the mayor of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the president and chairman of the Board of the Green Bay Packers. A considerably early check signed by Lombardi in his rookie year as the Packers' head coach. After finishing the 1958 season with a record of 1–10–1, Lombardi was brought in to serve as both head coach and general manager. The 1959 Packers were an immediate improvement, with the team finishing the year at 7–5 and Lombardi being named Coach of the Year.
Jim Ringo (1931–2007) played 15 years as a center for the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles, earning 10 Pro Bowl selections and winning championships in 1961 and 1962. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1981.
