Scarce original Electrola German press kit for the Beatles from late 1963, containing the original 7 x 9.5 press folder, which includes two glossy 7 x 5 photos of the band wearing their famous gray collarless suits during a photo shoot at Dezo Hoffmann’s Wardour Street studio in London, England, in April 1963, and a three-page typed German press release, which reads, in part (translated): “It all began with the Beatles on December 27, 1960, at the Festival Hall in a Liverpool suburb. There, they made their first major appearance. They had formed in the summer of 1958 and had performed at club nights and balls ever since. Shortly thereafter, Bob Wooler, a critic from Liverpool, wrote: ‘The Beatles have exactly what a successful band needs…rough yet romantic, they appeal to both sexes equally. They deliberately display a certain naiveté and an effective nonchalance about their music. They seem indifferent to the audience's reactions, yet always grateful.’ Mr. Wooler further described the Beatles, who enjoyed great success both as singers and instrumentalists, as people with musical authority and natural appeal. He described how they literally exploded during a hot number and spoke of a "resurrection" of pure rock'n'roll.” In fine condition, with light soiling to the folder. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.
