Scarce original color 33.5 x 20.5 black light poster by Wally Wood entitled ‘The Disneyland Memorial Orgy,’ an off-color satire of several naughty Disney characters (Mickey Mouse, Snow White, Peter Pan, Donald Duck, and many more) that was originally published as a centerfold spread in the May 1967 issue of The Realist magazine. Double-matted and framed to an overall size of 41 x 27.75. In fine condition.
After its magazine debut, Paul Krassner, the editor of The Realist, released the ‘Orgy’ spread in poster form. Initially, the Disney organization ignored the defamation because, as Krassner stated in the 2003 book The Pirates and the Mouse: Disney's War Against the Underground, Disney knew that ‘he was judgment-proof' and they didn't want to give him any free publicity. When the poster didn't disappear, but instead began appearing on dorm room and crash pad walls in a colorized, bootleg edition, Disney took action, suing its publisher, a San Franciscan named Sam Ridge, and forcing him out of business.
