Police commissioner of Kansas City (1848–1914) who assisted in the capture of James-Younger Gang outlaws Dick Liddil and Bob Ford in Clay County, Missouri, precipitating a series of events that ended in the murder of Jesse James. Partial ANS in pencil, signed “H. H. Craig,” one page, 8.5 x 5, no date. Partial handwritten note, in full: "U.S. Marshal—Huntsville, Ala. Tell Liddill not to leave till my letter this date reaches him." In very good to fine condition, with a roughly torn top edge.
