Two items: a matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Indiana's painting 'American Gas Works,' signed and inscribed in the lower border in blue ballpoint, "For Kevin Palestino, R. Indiana"; and a TLS signed "R. Indiana," one page, 8.5 x 11, personal 'Star of Hope Lodge' letterhead, April 4, 1979, in full: "Although the subject of the American Gas Works does happen to be Con Ed and the painting was started the day after that company took away my gas meter in darker days in lower Manhattan it might be of interest to you, as a resident of that other borough, to track down a reproduction of my Brooklyn Bridge which is in the collection of the Detroit Institute of Fine Arts. It is in homage to Hart Crane who was living in Brooklyn when he wrote his poem 'To the Bridge.' I am now living on the island where the granite for those two towers came from." In overall very fine condition.
