Two typed letters: a gag TLS from W. C. Fields signed “The Great Man,” one page, 7.5 x 9.5, personal letterhead, no date, addressed to “Mickey Mouse,” which reads: “I’ve had a couple of drinks today so if this isn’t the kind of letter you want, write one and I’ll sign it”; and a World War II-dated TLS signed “W. C. Fields,” one page, 7.5 x 9.5, personal letterhead, April 30, 1940, consisting of a letter of recommendation: “Miss Magda Michael has been my secretary for more than seven years. I have found her honest, most efficient, and willing at all times. Her suggestions have been most helpful to me. I regret and I am most unfortunate to have lost her services.” Double-matted and framed together with an artistic portrait to an overall size of 28 x 14.5. In overall fine condition, with some creasing to the Mouse note.
