Handsome pair of 19th-century United States Army officer's epaulettes, featuring fine quality 2.75˝ wide bullion tape boards, brass crescents retaining most of the original gilt, and wide coiled bullion suspensions typical of the period. Underside of pads lack lining, while boards are lined with red morocco leather; underneath are gilt attachment bars marked "Left" and "Right." A major's bullion leaf is mounted to the left epaulette; missing from the right. Housed in a japanned black case with carrying handle, marked on top: "Schuyler, Hartley, Graham & Co." In overall very good condition, with wear to the case.
