Uncommon silk mourning ribbon for Abraham Lincoln, 2 x 6.75, distributed to patrons on June 1, 1865, the national day of remembrance for President Lincoln, whose portrait is present to center between text: “National Day of Mourning, June 1st, 1865” and “Abraham Lincoln, Died April 15, 1865. Like Him long since crucified, For Humanity he died: Mourns his Country not alone, Mourns the world for him, her own.” In fine condition, with light tape stains to the top and bottom. Silk mourning ribbons for Lincoln are far scarcer than their paper counterparts.
