Large 6 x 5.5 swatch of Kapton foil removed from the descent stage of the Lunar Module Eagle mere days before the historic launch of the Apollo 11 mission, signed in black felt tip, “Apollo XI, LM 5, Lee Brandt, Grumman.” Also includes a color satin-finish 10 x 8 photo of the lunar module, signed in silver ink, “Apollo XI, ‘Eagle,’ Lee Brandt, LM-5 by Grumman.” Matted and framed with an embroidered patch and a descriptive plaque to an overall size of 15 x 25.5; the plaque reads: "This Kapton foil was removed from Apollo 11's Lunar Module 'Eagle' during an emergency squib valve replacement by Grumman engineer Lee Brandt. At the time Apollo 11 was staged on Pad 39A for launch. Lee entered the SLA where the Lunar Module was secure within the Saturn V rocket." In overall fine condition.
