Three items: a TLS as president signed “Jerry Ford,” one page, 6.75 x 8.75, White House letterhead, January 14, 1977, sent to Virginia Olson, in part: “As you retire from government service, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to you for the dedicated, able service you have given to me during the thirty months of my Presidency. Few have served the Office of the President with such devotion as you have over the past eight years. You have every reason to be proud of your accomplishments, and I know your colleagues join me in expressing admiration and appreciation for your deep commitment and your exceptional ability”; a color semi-glossy 8 x 10 photo of Ford next to the American flag, signed in the lower border in blue felt tip, “Gerald Ford”; and a printed 6.75 x 5.75 photo of Ford as a member of the University of Michigan football team in 1924, signed in black felt tip, “Gerald R. Ford.” In overall fine condition, with light toning to the lower half of the letter, and JSA labels affixed to the lower right corner of both photos. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from JSA for the color photo.
