Description

"I've sold serial to Woman's Home Companion, & another story to S. E. Post"

Three letters to fellow writer Ivan Somerville, discussing his work and travels: an ALS, one page, 5 x 6.5, no date, in part: "You see the town does exist! Gosh but you're a tightwad with your letters! Write me & send me a spring catalogue"; an ALS, four pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 6.5, March 25, [no year], in part: "How goes it? Write me a personal undictated letter & tell me the news…I've reached Chi, on my way to Minnesota & the unbridled freedom of the Prairies, & all that sort of thing. And I'm making it go! I've sold serial to Woman's Home Companion, & another story to S. E. Post…And I've done some work on a new novel—and seen some new faces & places"; and an ALS, three pages, 5.75 x 9.75, Commercial Hotel letterhead, September 8, [no year], in part: "Bonner's Ferry looks just as it sounds…The waitress at the International Dining Room is a quick grub-heaver, & I beat the slot machine @ the drug-store cigar-counter." In overall fine condition.
