The Apple III, produced as a business-oriented successor to the Apple II, was developed under the internal code name "Sara," named after Wendell Sander's daughter. Considered the 'father of the Apple III' computer, Sander was the first staff scientist at Apple Computer and is known for consolidating Steve Wozniak's Disk II controller onto a single chip.
