Docketing notation in the hand of John Hancock, “Alex Lunan,” penned on the reverse of the second integral page of a partial letter sent to Hancock by Philadelphia merchant Alexandre Lunan regarding a recent order. Lunan’s incomplete letter, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 7.5 x 9.25, no date, reads, in part: “…without any Flattery, I have so much pleasure and satisfaction in your correspondences that I shall spare no pains to continue…When I send the Accounts after the sales are finished you'll then see how the Balance is…The Four Barrells of Fine Flower, Branded, Sugar Fine, youl find very good; But it has not been in my power to get the Hams you was pleased to order; it's yet too early for them…I inclose you my account of Disbursements on the Schooner Lydia, amt. to £24.3.0.” In fine condition.
