Scarce 1984 color 22 x 28 Apple Computer promotional poster for the launch of the original Apple Macintosh personal computer, the Macintosh 128K, which depicts an X-ray or cutaway image of the computer and mouse, with surrounding text identifying its various parts and components, such as: “Display,” “Power supply,” “Battery,” “Built-in handle,” “Clever venting,” “Built-in speaker,” “Brightness control,” “The Mouse,” “RAM,” “Disk drive,” “Keyboard connector,” “Macintosh’s 32-bit MC68000 microprocessor,” “ROM,” “Built-in clock/calendar chip,” and “Macintosh’s digital board.” Rolled and in fine condition, with light scuffs and creases, primarily to the edges, which could be matted out if so desired. The consignor notes that this poster, which was distributed to Apple dealers for the Macintosh in 1984, was illustrated by Dale Gustafson, an accomplished automobile artist and the father of one of the art directors of Apple Creative Service. Tom Hughes was the art director for this particular poster.
