Handsome 13.25 x 10 lithograph by Currier & Ives entitled "Death of President Lincoln at Washington, D.C., April 15th, 1865, The Nation's Martyr," imprinted below with an 1865 copyright notice. The image shows President Lincoln on his deathbed at the Petersen House with Mary Todd, Robert Todd, and Tad Lincoln by his side, as well as key political allies and cabinet members, including: Chief Justice Salmon P. Chase, Vice President Andrew Johnson, Secretary of the Treasury Hugh McCulloch, Charles Sumner, Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton, and Secretary of the Navy Gideon Welles. Matted and framed to an overall size of 19 x 15.75. In very good to fine condition, with some dampstaining to the lower margin.
