Description

Scarce hand-colored 9.5 x 13.5 lithograph of the beardless Abraham Lincoln standing in a three-quarter length pose, book in hand, published by E. B. and E. C. Kellogg of Hartford, Connecticut, circa 1860. Imprinted in the lower border with his facsimile signature and a quote from his Cooper Union speech: "The people of these United States are the rightful masters of both Congresses and courts, not to over-throw the Constitution, but to over-throw the men who pervert their Constitution." Additionally features facsimile signatures of E. S. Cleveland and Philip Wadsworth, certifying the lithograph as a "good likeness of the Original." Displayed in a contemporary frame to an overall size of 12.25 x 16.5. In very good condition, with a tear and speckled surface loss to the top.
