Original unused and unfolded dust jacket for the first edition, first printing of Tarzan Triumphant by Edgar Rice Burroughs, 18 x 7.5, published by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., in 1932. The jacket features vivid cover art of Tarzan standing atop a slain lion by his nephew, Studley Oldham Burroughs. In very fine condition. Consignor notes that this originates from the printer's vault, where two mint copies of each dust jacket were kept on file in case they had to be reprinted.
Tarzan Triumphant was the fifteenth in Burroughs's series of twenty-four Tarzan books. In it, Tarzan squares off against Soviet agents seeking revenge and a lost tribe descended from early Christians practicing a bizarre and debased version of the religion.
