Teacher and humanitarian (1821–1912) best known for founding the relief organization the American Red Cross. Uncommon 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo of the American Red Cross founder in a full-length pose by Betts of Dansville, New York, neatly signed in on the reverse in ink, "Compliments of Clara Barton, Danville, Dec. 20, 1881." A presentation inscription in another hand reads: "Presented to Mrs. Mary A. Rand, Orange, Mass., 1881." In fine to very fine condition. Encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "GEM MT 10."
