Nobel Prize-winning chemist (1912–1999) who was instrumental in the discovery of several elements, and developed the extraction process used to isolate the plutonium fuel for the second atomic bomb during the Manhattan Project. Two items: a glossy 8 x 10 half-length photo of the Nobel Prize-winning chemist seated at his desk, signed in black felt tip, “Glenn T. Seaborg”; and a souvenir typescript of Seaborg’s Nobel Lecture on December 12, 1951, entitled ‘The Transuranium Elements: Present Status,’ one page, 8.5 x 11, signed at the conclusion in black ballpoint, “Glenn T. Seaborg.” In overall fine condition.
