Three documents signed by a legendary film producer from the Golden Age of Hollywood:
Contract between RKO Studios and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, three pages, 8.5 x 11, August 13, 1931, signed at the conclusion in black ink by MGM Vice President Irving Thalberg, and countersigned by RKO President Joseph I. Schnitzer; the document relates to RKO’s agreement to loan Rosco Ates to MGM for the Oscar-winning film The Champ.
Document for a “Minutes of a meeting of the Board of Directors of Samuel Goldwyn,” one page, 8.5 x 11, February 11, 1935, which is signed twice at the conclusion in bold fountain pen by Samuel Goldwyn and Abraham Lehr; the document concerns Goldwyn’s appointment as chairman and the copyright registration for the MGM story synopsis for ‘We Live Again.’
Contract between MGM and songwriters George Waggner, J. Russell Robinson, and Irving Kahal, four pages, 8.5 x 10.25, December 30, 1929, signed at the conclusion in black ink by Louis B. Mayer, and countersigned by the referenced songwriters; the contract is for the use of a song entitled ‘Just like Frankie and Johnnie.’
