Large blue banner from the hockey arena at the Lake Placid 1980 Winter Olympics, 36 x 71, with a large white logo for the 13th Winter Games and a gray ribbon on the upper border. Twelve teams competed in the tournament between February 12 and February 24, 1980. The Soviet Union was favored to win gold in hockey, but was beaten by the United States, who took the win in the medal round in an event that became known as the 'Miracle on Ice." In fine condition, with a stain to the upper border.
