(20th Century Fox, 1978) Original color 27 x 41 'Style D' or ‘circus style’ one sheet poster for the 1978 re-release of the space opera Star Wars, which features incredible artwork design by Charlie White III and Drew Struzan of a tattered Star Wars poster peeling back to reveal a wooden fence or wall. The poster includes a wide variety of enduring Star Wars characters and symbols, such as: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Hans Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Chewbacca, R2-D2 and C-3PO, the Death Star, the Jawas, the landspeeder, stormtroopers, and Darth Vader with a Dracula-type cape. Large bold text to upper section reads: "Star Wars, A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…" Lower portion features cast and crew credits and production details, with bottom border featuring NSS information and identified as “Style D, 77021, ‘Star Wars.’” Attractively framed to an overall size of 29 x 43. In fine condition, with folds as issued. The D-style poster was produced for the 1978 summer re-release of Star Wars and is purportedly one of George Lucas' favorite posters for the film.
