The first column begins: "During the present week, one most distinguished citizen of the United States has ceased to be the chief magistrate of twelve millions of people, and another has taken his place. High and honorable men have retired from the great offices of state, and others have succeeded of the places which they possess…Andrew Jackson took the oath of office as president of the United States, on the 4th inst. His address on this occasion will be found in the present sheet." In fine condition, with mottled toning.
