Large 5 x 6.25 swatch of backup Kapton foil for the spacecraft–LM adapter of the Apollo 12 Lunar Module Intrepid. In fine condition. Accompanied by a notarized letter of authenticity from Marty Winkel, who, from 1968 through 1972, was the Lead Electrical Technician for Grumman's Lunar Module support team at Launch Complex-39 at Kennedy Space Center. “While Apollo 12 was staged for launch on the Launch Pad 39A with LM 6 in the SLA (Spacecraft LM Adapter) I was responsible for installing a mylar blanket (Kapton foil thermal insulating blanket) around the pyrotechnic battery located on the Ascent Stage. I had two sets of Kapton foil thermal insulation blankets for this procedure. One set would be a backup if I would have accidently damaged the first insulation blanket during installation. Both sets of blankets were brought into the SLA. I installed one set with no damage to the thermal insulation. I kept the second blanket and it has been in my possession for the past 53 years.”
