Two letters to fashion design icons Wesley and Adele Simpson: a TLS by Lyndon B. Johnson, signed "L.B.J.," one page, 7 x 8.75, personal letterhead, December 29, 1971, in part: "The golf balls are excellent…and personalized and in such abundant supply! Thanks for being so good to me"; and a TLS by Lady Bird Johnson, signed "Always affectionately, Lady Bird," one page, 6.25 x 8.5, personal letterhead, December 24, 1971, in part: "I only wish you could have been here when I opened your package today—for then you would have heard my squeals of delight! I am mad about your gold evening purse and think I'm so very lucky to have such a dear friend." She adds a handwritten postscript: "Will you be at any Texas stores this spring? If you ever are do let me know." In overall fine condition.
