Stunning set of custom-made Olympic Zildjian cymbals used on stage by drummer Zak Starkey during The Who’s performance at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Summer Olympics. The five cymbals, each 24″ in diameter, were painted to represent the Olympic colors; therefore, the cymbals have a muted sound and do not sound like a traditional cymbal that is made to resonate. Although Starkey, the son of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, did, in fact, use these cymbals on stage, the actual songs they performed at the ceremony were pre-recorded, so the sound heard at the show was not that of the cymbals, which were painted to be visual aids and not heard on stage. These gorgeous cymbals were made exclusively by Zildjian for this closing ceremony and, as such, they are one of a kind. In overall fine condition, with expected wear from use.
