Three one-of-a-kind original negatives of photographs taken by David Gahr at a Prince concert held at Madison Square Garden in New York City on either October 2 or 3, 1988. Each negative, 1.5 x 1.25, depicts Prince on the MSG stage in dramatic style, including one of him shirtless and yelling into the audience. In overall fine condition.
David Gahr (1922-2008) was an American photographer whose photographic output features more than five decades of musicians like Phil Spector, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Miles Davis, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Janis Joplin, Sonny Terry, John Lennon, Aretha Franklin, and Johnny Cash, among others. His book, The Face of Folk Music, with writer Robert Shelton captured the exploding American Folk music scene.
